This John Boos Blended Walnut Kitchen Counter Top is both attractive and functional, providing a tough duty cutting surface everywhere you need it. Each countertop is constructed with full length exterior rails and random finger-jointed interior rails. The top is made from top grade American Black walnut that was sustainably harvested and is finished with a food-safe penetrating oil, the same factory finish John Boos uses with their world famous cutting boards and butcher blocks. The oil is absorbed into the wood fibers, helping with water resistance and spill clean-up. John Boos recommends oiling this countertop to preserve its beauty and durability (John Boos Mystery Oil sold separately on Amazon).

During installation, please note that an overhang of 8 inches or more (width), and 12 inches or more (length) must be stabilized with support. These beautiful blended walnut countertops are Made in the USA by skilled craftspeople. These richly-colored countertops are designed to enhance and compliment any style of kitchen design/décor. These highly functional countertops are easy-care alternatives to granite or stone counters, and can be used as a food prep and cutting surface.

Varnique (sealed/finished) versions of this countertop are available and sold separately. It is important to note that these items were intentionally built this way with a mind to sustainability, to respect and utilize all parts of the wood. Any irregularity would be very small, will be on the reverse side, does not indicate a defect, and will not impact the function or use of the top.

The reverse side (that will be installed facing downwards) can sometimes include slight irregularities (such as a nick) in the wood. This non-reversible design avoids slipping and sliding in the kitchen so you can slice, cut, and chop without worry. The natural wood finish is food-quality safe and pairs well with your knives, preventing them from wearing down too quickly.
